Had some people coming to look at the S10 tonight. They just backed out. They were wanting it for their son and he saw it in person (they drove by it this morning) and hated the color. Cue sad trombone.

Wat? Did they not look at the photos? I mean, paint can be slightly different  IRL, but if you don’t like red, don’t come out.

It’s technically pink. Haha. It shows more pink in real life than it is in iPhone photos.

If I’m buying a vehicle for my kids they get no choice in color, make, model, nothing. If they don’t like it they can walk.

I don’t get people who fuss over color especially when buying used, it’s hard enough finding what I want on the used market without adding color to that mix.

I was gonna say, there is no way that is a regular red.  Google shows it could be Raspberry Red? Seems like a lot of pink in there.

Honestly for a kid’s first car I feel like ABS is a must. It’s not spoiling them or something, it can do a lot to keep them and everyone else safe and save everyone a lot of headaches . I knew more than a few not-car-interested kids in high school whose parents went out of their way to find them cars that’ll “ build character” or whatever who ended up locking up in the snow or rain and rear ending someone. It’s not like a 2002 Corolla that would’ve cost all of $500 more than that 1989 Buick would’ve ruined them and now both you and then them will have to spend way more than $500 thanks to their raised insurance rates .

I will never understand the spoiled children who get picky about their first car. Unless you’re paying 100% of the price, which most kids don’t, don’t be picky just be happy. I just got a loan from my dad for my first car that I DID have to pay back, but I was excited about any opportunity to have a car. I ended up with something I liked but I’d my dad had told me “we’re buying  you a pink S-10” I’d would just have been exciting have something of my own.

I don’t care what the kid says, that’s one of the best colors on that gen S10. If  he can’t see that then he doesn't deserve the truck.

I remember that color. it’s a very vivid fuchsia. the ‘90s had some interesting colors on offer. I actually really liked the Mustang LX in Calypso Green Pearl.

Dunno. I still havent owned a vehicle that has ABS or newer than 03 and it was great decision. I learned on a manual car with no abs and all seasons in the winter to drive. Taught me much more than i thought

Pink? Pink? Well, what’s wrong with pink?
Seems you’ve got a pink kink in your think.
Does it matter what color? Well, that gets nope.
Be it pink, purple, or heliotrope.

He should watch Boundin’ .

Sorry but you got lucky. Ya it’s not like every 16 year old or even the majority of 16 year olds without ABS are going to get into an accident but even a year or two of driving experience builds a mental model of how to react in different situations, that improves your instinctive reactions and give you mental bandwidth to pay attention to not locking. I bet if there happened to be a car coming out of an intersection at the wrong moment or over the double lines into your lane the ‘learning experience’ would’ve been an ‘accident’. Also, removing most driver aids like traction control or automatic transmissions(and newer stuff like auto lane keeping or whatever) will make you interact more with the vehicle more, understand vehicle dynamics more and gain better car control skills. There are lots of benefits to having that knowledge and I support teaching kids to drive without those aids . Removing ABS does nothing to improve car control skills, just increases your stopping distance a little in the best case or a lot in the worst case. No matter how good you think you are a half-decent ABS system can maximize grip much better than you can, unless I’m talking to a professional racing driver .
